The Talismans of Shannara Character List
The list for order of appearance has only the characters that had an physical part in the story, not the people that were mentioned only in passing (such as Mirianna Ohmsford - Par and Coll's mother); these will be indicated by italics in the alphabetically-ordered list.
Order of Appearance | Alphabetical Order
- Rimmer Dall
- The First Seeker and a Shadowen, he captured Par and tried to enter his body, but failed. Later, the magic imprisoned at Southwatch destroyed him.
- Par Ohmsford
- A Valeman who has the magic of the wishsong of illusion as well as some innate Elfstone magic, he has possession of the Sword of Shannara. He freed Coll from the thrall of the Mirrorshroud. When everything was over, he, Coll, and Damson went to Callahorn to open an inn.
- Padishar Creel
- Leader of the Free-born and the Movement, he finds Par in Tyrsis and joins his forces with the Elves in the battle against the Federation.
- Damson Rhee
- Par's lover and Padishar's daughter, she and Matty rescued Coll from the slavers, Padishar from the Federation, and went with Walker into Southwatch to help free Par and the magic. When everything was over, she, Par, and Coll went to Callahorn to open an inn.
- Mole
- A furry creature that lives in the tunnels of Tyrsis and keeps the trash of the upper world in his lair, he aided in Padishar and Damson's rescues.
- Chalt
- One of the Mole's "children", he is a stuffed bear.
- Everlind
- One of the Mole's "children", she is a stuffed velvet rabbit.
- Westra
- One of the Mole's "children".
- Lida
- One of the Mole's "children".
- Walker Boh
- Known as the Dark Uncle and the first of the new Druids, he releases Par and the magic from Southwatch. Walker also destroyed the Four Horsemen while trapped at Paranor. After destroying the Shadowen, he returned to Paranor to use the Druid Sleep.
- Cogline
- A once-Druid, he gave up his life to save Walker's by using his black powder on Death and suffering the effects.
- Rumor
- Walker Boh's giant moor cat; he goes with Walker to Southwatch and fought against the Shadowen.
- Famine
- A Shadowen posing as one of the Four Horsemen and sent to Paranor to keep Walker trapped inside, it was destroyed by the magics of Pestilence and War.
- Pestilence
- A Shadowen posing as one of the Four Horsemen and sent to Paranor to keep Walker trapped inside, itwas destroyed by the magics of Famine and Walker Boh.
- War
- A Shadowen posing as one of the Four Horsemen and sent to Paranor to keep Walker trapped inside, it was destroyed by the magics of Pestilence and Walker Boh.
- Death
- A Shadowen posing as one of the Four Horsemen and sent to Paranor to keep Walker trapped inside, it was destroyed by the magics of Walker Boh and Cogline's black powder.
- Coll Ohmsford
- Par's brother, he was in the thrall of the Mirrorshroud before Par set him free. He later went to Southwatch with Walker to set Par free and used the Sword of Shannara on Par. When everything was over, he, Par, and Damson went to Callahorn to open an inn.
- Morgan Leah
- The wielder of the Sword of Leah, he rescues Padishar from the Federation and Par and Wren from the Shadowen. When everything was over, he went with Matty Roh to the Eastland to aid in the Dwarf Resistance.
- Matty Roh
- The manager of a tavern in Varfleet, she joins up with Morgan to rescue Padishar, Coll, and Par from the Federation, slavers, and Shadowen. When everything was over, she went with Morgan to the Eastland to aid in the Dwarf Resistance.
- Chandos
- Second-in-command after Padishar Creel, he is a fellow Free-born.
- Wren Elessedil
- Queen of the Elves, she destroyed the Creepers at the Matted Brakes as well as Gloon and Tib Arne. Wren led the battle against the Federation until the magic of Southwatch was set free. After the destruction of the Shadowen, she remained the queen of the Elves and dedicated her life to healing the Four Lands.
- Spirit
- Tiger Ty's Roc.
- Tiger Ty
- Commander of the Wing Riders after the death of Erring Rift, he aided Wren in the Federation battles and the Creeper destruction. He and his Roc fought against Tib Arne and Gloon to save Wren and survived.
- Faun
- A Tree Squeak come out of Morrowindl, she went with Wren everywhere and was killed while protecting Wren from the Shadowen. A Seeker stepped on her.
- Triss
- Captain of the Home Guard and Wren's protector, he helped lure the Creepers into the Matted Brakes and executed attacks against the Federation army.
- Eton Shart
- The Elven First Minister, he does not accept Wren as Queen of the Elves and is her biggest hurdle.
- Barsimmon Oridio
- The general of the Elven army.
- Perek Arundel
- The Elven Minister of Trade.
- Jalen Ruhl
- The Elven Minister of Home Defense.
- Fruaren Laurel
- The Elven Minister of Healing.
- King of the Silver River
- Living since the time of Faerie, he appears to Par and Coll and took the latter away to safety along with the Sword of Shannara.
- Desidio
- Commander of the Elven vanguard and battle strategist, he was injured in battle and had to be taken back to Arborlon.
- Tib Arne
- A little boy who was really a Shadowen, he was an untrue friend and tried to kidnap Wren to send her to Southwatch. The Elfstones' magic later killed him.
- Gloon
- A war shrike that was really a Shadowen, it belonged to Tib Arne and could grow or shrink in size. Wren's magic and Spirit killed it later.
- Stresa
- A Splinterscat come out of Morrowindl, he showed Wren and Triss the way through the Matted Breaks so that they could destroy the Creepers.
- Erring Rift
- The leader of the Wing Riders, he and his Roc were killed by Tib Arne and Gloon.
- Grayl
- Erring Rift's Roc.
- Allanon
- A shade who was once a Druid; he appeared to Walker in his dreams and revealed a little more of what was unknown.
- Ebben Cruenal
- An Elf who took over Desidio's command after Desidio was injured in battle.
- Axhind
- The Troll Maturen of the Kelktic Rock, he and his Rock Trolls aid the Free-born in their struggle.
